Two adorable orphaned baby elephants are melting hearts online after showing off their very different approaches to drinking milk from a bottle. One is determined to do everything himself, while the other seems perfectly happy letting someone else handle the hard work!
The precious moment was shared by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, an elephant rescue organization in Kenya, featuring two young elephants named Bungalu and Kaikai.
In the heartwarming video, the little elephants enjoy their milk side by side, but it quickly becomes clear that they have very different ideas about mealtime.
Bungalu proudly uses his trunk to help balance his bottle while eagerly drinking his milk. He looks like a toddler determined to prove he’s a big boy who doesn’t need any help!
Kaikai, meanwhile, has absolutely no interest in showing off her independence. Instead, the clever little girl lets her keeper hold her bottle while she happily enjoys every last drop.

Why bother doing all that work when someone is perfectly willing to do it for you?
The cutest moment comes when Bungalu finishes his milk and casually drops his empty bottle to the ground, almost as if he’s announcing that his meal is officially over.
His sister watches as her caregiver takes away her bottle, apparently satisfied with her much more relaxed approach.
The rescue organization couldn’t resist poking fun at the pair’s personalities, joking that Kaikai might not be trying particularly hard to master the skill.
Viewers were delighted by their adorable differences.
One person compared Bungalu to a human baby who simply lets go of a bottle once it’s empty. Another joked that he looked ready to demand his next serving.
Others rushed to defend Kaikai, suggesting she might actually be the smarter elephant for letting her human helpers do the work!
But behind their playful personalities is a touching story of survival.
Both elephants were rescued after losing their mothers. Bungalu endured weeks alone in the Kenyan wilderness, surviving dangerous storms, hunger and even an encounter with lions before rescuers finally brought him to safety.
Kaikai also faced a heartbreaking beginning. She was rescued as a newborn after being discovered near her dead mother in Kenya’s Maasai Mara region.
Today, both youngsters are receiving around-the-clock care at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s Kaluku Neonate Unit, where dedicated keepers provide nutritious milk, companionship and the security they would normally receive from their elephant families.
The two have developed a close friendship despite their different personalities. Bungalu is generally the calmer of the pair, while energetic little Kaikai often takes charge during their adventures.
Learning to handle a milk bottle is another exciting milestone for a growing elephant. African elephants have two finger-like projections at the tips of their trunks, allowing them to grip objects with remarkable precision.
Over time, young elephants can become surprisingly skilled at holding their own bottles, although some, like Kaikai, are apparently in no hurry to give up the royal treatment.
For these two precious babies, something as simple as drinking milk represents another step toward a healthier, happier future.
And whether Bungalu proudly holds his own bottle or Kaikai chooses a little extra help, one thing is certain: these adorable elephants have already mastered the art of stealing hearts!
