Anyone who has ever had an annoying sibling will understand exactly how one cat feels after her much bigger brother decided that her water bowl belonged to him.
Indy, an expressive little cat, was simply trying to enjoy a refreshing drink when her brother Crux, a large Doberman, wandered over and helped himself to her water. What followed was a hilarious display of feline disapproval that has animal lovers laughing across social media.
The funny encounter happened while the two pets were spending time outdoors with their owner. During a water break, their mom placed a small dish of fresh water in front of Indy, giving the kitty a chance to quench her thirst.
Unfortunately, Crux had other plans.
Despite being considerably larger than his feline sister, the Doberman apparently decided her tiny bowl looked like the perfect place for a drink. Without much hesitation, he lowered his big nose into the dish and began lapping up the water, leaving Indy standing beside him with an expression that seemed to ask whether he was seriously doing this.

The contrast between the two animals makes the moment even funnier. Crux appears completely unbothered as he enjoys his unexpected refreshment, while Indy looks at him with the unmistakable disappointment of a little sister whose personal space has just been invaded.
Rather than trying to push him away, the cat simply watches the entire situation unfold, occasionally glancing toward her owner as though hoping someone will explain why her brother is allowed to behave this way.
And just when you think the sibling drama couldn’t get any more entertaining, the story takes another amusing turn.
In a follow-up video, their owner refills Indy’s dish with fresh water, seemingly giving the cat another opportunity to enjoy her drink without interruption. But Indy isn’t interested anymore.
After watching her big brother help himself to the original bowl, she appears to have completely lost her enthusiasm. Whether she was bothered by his interruption or simply wasn’t thirsty anymore, her reaction only made viewers laugh harder.
The adorable exchange, shared through the @cruxthedoberman social media account, quickly attracted comments from pet lovers who recognized the familiar frustrations of having a sibling.
One viewer joked that Indy was essentially telling her brother she was finished with the water anyway, while another pointed out the exact moment the cat seemed to lose interest in her drink.
Other commenters couldn’t get over the Doberman’s complete lack of concern as he crowded his much smaller sister away from the bowl. Meanwhile, Indy’s expressive face became the real star of the video, with viewers imagining all the things she might have been thinking.
Of course, dogs and cats don’t experience sibling rivalry exactly the way humans do, and there’s no way to know whether Indy was genuinely annoyed. But the playful interpretation certainly makes the interaction irresistible.
For households with both cats and dogs, the video also offers a familiar reminder that even the most unlikely animal companions can have very different ideas about sharing. Providing separate water bowls is an easy way to ensure every pet has comfortable access to a drink, especially when one family member happens to be much bigger than the other.
As for Indy and Crux, their amusing little disagreement is another example of why their adventures are so entertaining to watch. Crux may have won the battle for the water bowl, but his little sister undoubtedly stole the spotlight.
And judging by Indy’s priceless expression, she might prefer it if her big brother found a drinking bowl of his own next time.
