Dogs really are man’s best friend, but anyone who’s gotten to know a furry friend will understand that they’re so much more than that, too. Our canine family members are protectors, playmates, and the best cuddle buddies! It’s really no wonder why so many people consider their dogs to be their children.
One precious Golden Retriever named Mabel takes her adoration for her family to the next level with her priceless morning routine, but if you ask me, this only proves that she’s the baby in the house! Not long ago, her mom, Becky, took a video of this heartwarming routine to show Dad while he’s at work, but now Dad plays just as important of a role in the pup’s favorite part of her morning. Clearly, she misses her dad every day while he’s away!

What a sweet dog! Mabel must be so close with her dad if she snoops around for his clothes while he’s at work. Fortunately, the loving dog owners aren’t annoyed by this unusual habit, but they see how much she misses her dad when he’s not around. Instead of feeling guilty or redirecting her behavior, though, they support it wholeheartedly.
“When people say, ‘We don’t deserve dogs,’ this is what they are referencing,” Jane commented. “This is absolute love.” You can say that again! Having her dad’s scent around helps this Golden Retriever relax for her daily naps, so she clearly sees him as a core part of her pack. She knows that all is well when Dad is home, so at least this way, she can pretend he’s not at work.
