At times, it seems the trouble that cats get into is entirely accidental. We can forgive our cat’s near-daily scattering of litter outside their box due to super-enthusiastic waste-burial techniques. They are just trying to keep their area smelling neat and clean.
We can even overlook the occasional “boot scooting” drag across my carpet as they are trying to clean their own bodies. But then there are the cats who stare meaningfully at you while they push a full glass of water off a table. Those guys know exactly the kind of chaos they have caused—and they live for it.

What to think of the cat in this video, who is seemingly rebelling in an entire floor full of spilled sand. Where did this mess come from? Was it an aquarium that crashed? A sandbag that was broken open? A wayward beachside tornado that dumped all the grit all over the person’s floor?
For this orange cat, the how and why doesn’t seem to matter very much. He’s just enjoying the moment.
“Are you kidding me?” His mom asks as she trains the camera on that utterly pleased, fluffy orange cat, who is rolling around in the fine-grained sand. “What did you do?”
He does not answer, just wriggles into the sand some more.
