Wesley the Golden Retriever gave himself a spa day with a DIY mud bath!
Even if your dog doesn’t mind taking a bath, getting them clean can be a time-consuming task. You can’t always put your day on hold to scrub your pup squeaky clean, but every now and then, you have no other choice. Springtime is also known as ‘dirty dog season’ thanks to the prevalence of mud, pollen, and even grass clippings that could stain your dog green, but other dogs are determined to get messy any time of the year.
Just ask Wesley! On March 3, this free-spirited Golden Retriever turned a walk into the park into anything but because as soon as he saw a mud puddle, all bets were off. His human quickly grabbed the camera to record his impromptu mudbath because they could do nothing but embrace it after he took a split-second dip in the puddle. See for yourself!

OMG! We were expecting muddy paws and maybe a dirty nose, but this adventurous dog dove straight in. He has no regrets! Clearly, Wesley prefers to live in the moment and think about the consequences later, and maybe he’s encouraging others to do the same thing.
Just like a commenter named Steph, we couldn’t help but notice “the people on the bench” in the video’s background. They could hardly contain themselves when they saw the dog dive in the mud! To be fair, we would have had the very same reaction, and so would the other 4 million people who’ve enjoyed this priceless video.
“I just hope this was a walk to the park rather than a drive to walk in the park,” Lisa wrote. OMG, I didn’t even think about that! Cleaning a muddyGolden Retriever’s Unapologetic Mud Bath Is Full of Pure Joy and Chaos dog is one thing, but cleaning a muddy car is an entirely new game. As annoying as it may be, you’ll have to get home somehow!
