Everyone loves celebrating their birthday, even dogs. This is especially true when we offer our canine companions special tasty treats on their birthday.
And pretty much goes without saying that their reactions to receiving these special treats are precious enough to induce feelings of cuteness overload in anyone with a pulse. Just take the precious little dachshund in this video, for instance.
Benny the dachshund recently turned six, and his human gave him a special birthday cake to celebrate this milestone. As you can see in this video, his excited little hops over receiving his special cake are just as precious as it gets.

Oh, what a good boy little Benny is! We doubt that anyone is going to see anything on the Internet all day that is cuter than this.
Speaking of the Internet, it may not agree on many things, but it did agree that Benny hopping up and down like a little bunny as he eagerly awaited his birthday cake was the epitome of all that is cuteness overload.
Hilariously, some people joked that Benny was such an adorable boy that he deserved an even bigger birthday cake instead of just a small cupcake with a candle in it. However, most people just commented that Benny was simply too precious and wish him a happy birthday.
As you can see from this other Instagram post, Benny has a younger canine sibling, who is also an adorable little dachshund named Jax. And he celebrated his first birthday on March 7th.
And just like his older brother, Jax got a special birthday treat to celebrate his own milestone. Although this time, that tree was a frosting-covered cookie in the shape of a dog bone instead of a cupcake.
This household clearly understands how to make their beloved fur babies feel special on their birthday. However, it is worth noting that dogs should not eat frosting made for human consumption.
Instead, it is best to give our four-legged best friend special frosting that is dog-safe, which does not contain excessive amounts of sugar and other ingredients that are bad for their health.
Hopefully, all the tasty birthday treats that Benny and Jax enjoyed on their special days were made with canine-appropriate ingredients.
