If you don’t believe in love at first sight, then you have never seen two animals instantly bond with one another. To say that these interactions and the friendships that blossom from them are magical is an understatement.
Case in point, the instant bond between Tilly the Tortoise and Skippy the Chihuahua is a story of love at first sight worthy of a Disney movie.

This video shows the timeline of their relationship, which started when Tilly first met Skippy when he was just a puppy. They were instantly comfortable with one another, and as the years progressed their bond only deepened.
They would spend time together whenever they were in the yard. Sometimes, Skippy would be perched up on top of a chair, and Tilly would come over to join him. Or, they would meet each other at the same tree and enjoy affectionately sniffing each other.
As the video points out, this is how these two communicate with each other. Tilly will also wait by the door when Skippy is not outside. And Skippy will often wait by the door to be let outside.
Sometimes they’re both by the door, looking at each other as they wait to be reunited outside. Even though this family has many dogs, Skippy is the one that Tilly always seeks out.
As you can see from this other video, Skippy will often bring Tilly “gifts of love.” In this video, these gifts range from various julienne squeaky dog toys to long sticks and even blades of grass. As they say, sharing is caring.
Now, dogs don’t always find it easy to share their toys. So, when they do, it’s kind of a big deal. Since our canine companions are pack animals, sharing their toys is a way to promote unity and bonding within the pack.
Skipping clearly wants to let Tilly know that he views him as a valuable member of his pack. And that is just plain awesome, because these two make up the most adorable duo!
