As adorable as canine siblings can be with one another, sometimes they can really get on each other’s nerves. Although when one of them is a Golden Retriever puppy and the other is a Grumpy Corgi, this tends to be a one-sided affair.
But that is the case with Ruby the Corgi and Hugo the Golden Retriever puppy. All Ruby is trying to do is be a good sister for young Hugo as he learns the ropes. However, if this video is anything to go by, things are working out so well for poor old grumpy Ruby.

As you can see in this video, Hugo just wants to play. However, Ruby is a much older soul, and she just wants to relax. It’s too bad for her that her younger canine sibling has no idea what that word means.
Hugo tries standing on his sister when she won’t play with him, which causes her to snap at him, knocking little Hugo to the ground. He also gets too close for comfort to one of her favorite toys, which Ruby does not take kindly to, flashing her fangs at the young pup.
And last but certainly not least, when Ruby is all tuckered out from a long day and ready for bedtime, Hugo suddenly gets a case of the zoomies, running around and playing with his light-up ball like a dog possessed.
Now, in all fairness to poor old Ruby, she gets along perfectly fine with this family’s other Golden Retriever, Maui. As this video shows, she even got along fine with him when he was just a puppy.
It could be that she’s just a much older dog now and does not have all of the energy to keep up with a rambunctious younger dog anymore. But hey, with some training and time, Hugo will calm down, and then maybe he and Ruby can have a better relationship.
