People are praising the San Diego Humane Society’s Project Wildlife in Ramona, California team for saving a young bear cub’s life.

Things were looking bleak for the bear cub, who was orphaned and left to survive all on its own. It’s terrifying to think what could have happened. Thankfully, the Humane Society stepped in and changed the cub’s life for the better.

Again, it’s so upsetting to think about what could’ve happened had the bear been left alone. At 2 months old, he truly is just a baby. One that needs to be protected at all costs.

An orphaned black bear cub is starting to thrive after arriving weak, underweight and alone to the San Diego Humane Society’s Project Wildlife team. After 30 days in their care, the Humane Society says the 2-month-old cub is now playful and happy after getting the round-the-clock attention from experts at the organization’s Ramona Wildlife Center. Stuffed toys and even bear suits have been a part of the young cub’s rehabilitation. Campers found the cub in April in the Los Padres National Forest. California Department of Fish and Wildlife biologists initially attempted to reunite the cub with his mother by returning him to the wild overnight, but she did not return. #bear #bearcub #bearrescue #sandiego
