Every dog parent dreams of raising a well-behaved, obedient pup — but let’s be honest, even the best-trained dogs have their mischievous moments. Whether it’s a tiny dog demanding snuggles or a big one swiping snacks off the table, a little mischief is just part of the package.
And one water-loving dog recently reminded us all just how creative — and hilarious — a naughty pup can be when left to his own devices.
On July 18, TikTok user @haileyrrico shared what was supposed to be a simple late-night potty break. But instead of doing his business, her dog took a detour straight into the pool. Yep, without hesitation, he turned bedtime into one last splash session.

“I wish I was joking,” Hailey captioned the video. “Cheers to a wet bed. Guess who’s sleeping like a towel burrito tonight?”
With a soundtrack of “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” setting the tone, the clip shows the soggy pup lounging poolside like royalty — completely unbothered, totally relaxed, and clearly proud of his last-minute rebellion.
The internet quickly fell in love.
“Did you specify that it was a potty break and not a pool break?” one commenter joked. “Because this may be on you, friend.” Honestly, ‘go potty’ and ‘pool party’ do sound awfully similar. Maybe he was just following instructions… in his own way.
Another viewer likened the scene to High School Musical 2, writing, “This is actually really dangerous because your dog could start demanding iced tea from England, lifeguards from Spain, towels from Turkey, and turkey from Maine.” Sharpay Evans might want to watch her throne — there’s a new diva in town.
Despite the wet chaos that followed, Hailey couldn’t stay mad for long. After all, summer nights don’t last forever — and her dog clearly knows how to make the most of them. The warm air, the quiet evening, and a surprise solo swim? It was all too tempting.
And let’s face it, can you really blame a dog for choosing one last float over bedtime?
Probably not. But next time, Hailey might want to clarify: bathroom break, not beach club vibes.
