There’s a reason people call their pets “fur babies.” Between their wild zoomies and love of cuddles, animals often give off the sweetest, most childlike energy. And some, like Stella the miniature donkey, take that to an absolutely adorable extreme.
In a now-viral video, little Stella is seen nestled into her human dad’s shoulder like an actual infant—head tucked in, completely content. It’s clear she has no idea she’s a donkey, not a baby human. But really, who’s complaining?

Stella’s favorite thing in the world seems to be snuggles. She melts into her human’s arms with total trust, like it’s the most natural thing. And yes, her tiny head fits perfectly on his shoulder. Try not to melt watching it—seriously.
Just over Dad’s shoulder stands Pepper, Stella’s real donkey mom, keeping a close eye on her girl. According to the video, Pepper is always nearby, making sure her little one is safe and loved. She’s the definition of a good mama.
Of course, we can’t help but wonder—what will happen when Stella realizes she’s actually a miniature donkey and not a human child? There’s definitely some Pinocchio energy going on here. But with the love that surrounds her—both donkey and human—we’re pretty sure she’s going to be just fine.
And if that wasn’t sweet enough, another clip shows the family’s young human daughter giving out equal love to both Stella and Pepper. She cuddles them, pets them, and showers them with affection like a pro.
The caption on one of the videos says it best: “This is the kind of love I hope all three of them always know.” Same here. Because this kind of heartwarming connection—between species, between generations—is exactly the kind of wholesome joy we all need more of.
