A heartwarming rescue story is going viral after an Illinois couple adopted not just two bonded cats — but their one-eyed best friend, too.
After losing their bonded pair of cats in 2024, Jessica Diamond and her husband, Ahren Jasper, felt ready to open their hearts again. Determined to give a home to cats who had a harder time getting adopted, they began visiting shelters in search of a pair that truly needed them.
That’s when they spotted Jesse and Jasper online — two inseparable besties who’d been waiting over a year and a half for a forever home. Jesse, 3, was outgoing and cuddly, while Jasper, 5, was shy and relied on Jesse for comfort. The kicker? Their names matched the couple perfectly: Jessica (Jessie) and Jasper.
“We were shocked when we saw their names,” Diamond explained. “It felt like a sign they were meant to be with us.”
But when the couple went to meet them, another cat strolled into their hearts — Blaze, a four-year-old one-eyed sweetheart who had been abandoned outside the shelter. Shelter workers explained that Blaze was incredibly friendly and had formed a close bond with Jesse and Jasper.
“We knew we couldn’t leave him behind,” Diamond said. “It turned into a triple adoption!
Now, Jesse, Jasper, and Blaze are living their best lives together. Jesse loves being on a lap 24/7, Blaze follows his humans everywhere, and Jasper still finds comfort snuggling with his brothers.
Diamond shared the trio’s adoption story on TikTok (@jeezydeezy), and it quickly went viral, racking up over 1.2 million views and more than 302,000 likes. Thousands of commenters praised the couple for keeping the trio together:
