A heartwarming TikTok video is melting hearts across the internet after capturing a calico cat tenderly cuddling her one and only kitten.
Shared in September by user @loveatfirstloaff, the now-viral clip shows the sweet mama cat wrapping her paws protectively around her tiny newborn, refusing to let him go. The on-screen text reads, “When your cat only has one kitten and is the sweetest mommy ever,” while the caption adds, “Our baby had a baby!!”
The video, which has racked up over 2.1 million views and more than 400,000 likes, shows just how powerful a mother’s love can be — even in the animal world.

Josie Ford from Florida, who owns the cat, told Newsweek that the video was taken about an hour after her cat Peaches gave birth. “We expected more kittens, but turns out she was just snuggling her one and only baby,” Ford said. “We’ll be keeping them together.”
Peaches’ story is as touching as the video itself. She was a stray who showed up at Ford’s home pregnant and seeking help. “We have land for her to roam, and she loves to feel the grass in her fur,” Ford explained. She added that they’ve since adopted another kitten so that Peaches’ baby, Persy (short for Persimmon), will have a playmate as he grows up.
Social media users couldn’t get enough of the adorable duo. One person joked, “Just one? What a responsible financial decision.” Another wrote, “Don’t you DARE separate them,” while someone else added, “I hope she gets to keep her only child. That will be a special relationship.”
