A dog’s heartwarming reunion with her best friend after almost a year apart has captured the internet’s heart.
The viral video, shared on Instagram last Sunday by @hammyandolivia, shows 18-month-old Pembroke Welsh corgi Fiona practically dragging her owner on the leash as she races toward her best friend, an Alaskan Malamute named Kili. The two pups immediately sniff each other and then spin in joyful circles, playing like no time has passed at all.

The clip includes a caption explaining, “She hasn’t seen her best friend in over a year,” and viewers can’t get enough of their adorable excitement.
Chris Equale and his fiancée, Sarah Rasmussen, from Great Falls, Virginia, told Newsweek that Fiona and Kili bonded instantly during their daily evening walks.
“When we first brought Fiona home over a year ago, we loved taking her on neighborhood walks to help her settle in. She would always pull us toward Kili’s house whenever we passed by,” the couple said.
While Kili can be a bit reserved with other dogs, she instantly warmed up to Fiona. The two had daily meetups until Kili’s family had to move unexpectedly, putting their walks—and their playdates—on hold.
“Due to a home emergency and construction, Fiona hasn’t been able to go on her usual walks for a long time, so she hadn’t seen Kili in months,” the couple said.
When they finally brought Fiona back to the neighborhood to check on the house construction, Kili was waiting, and the reunion was pure magic.
The video quickly went viral, racking up over 9.5 million views and more than 608,000 likes on Instagram. Fans flooded the comments with excitement.
One user wrote, “This isn’t just a reunion, it’s a soul sync, you can feel the love through the screen.” Another commented, “She couldn’t be any more excited!” while a third added, “Look at those happy wiggles.”
It’s safe to say Fiona and Kili’s joyful reunion has left the internet completely smitten.
