Everyone deserves a sweet treat now and then—even squirrels! While pets usually prefer savory snacks, some animals clearly have a sweet tooth, just like @diedietoks’ neighborhood cookie-loving squirrel.
Diedie and her husband were celebrating their shared November 20 birthday with a box of Crumbl cookies, but it seems the local squirrel had its own celebration in mind. By the time Diedie opened the door for the delivery, the cheeky critter had already dug in! The birthday girl was stunned to find her sweet thief red-handed, but the squirrel didn’t even flinch.

Video footage shows the little bandit happily munching away, icing smeared on its nose, giving away the evidence and staring straight at the camera like a true cookie connoisseur. “Look how big he is,” commented @gemini.erin.monaco. “It’s clearly not his first heist!”
Even Crumbl joined in on the fun, joking that their cookies are “too good to resist.” Diedie reportedly asked for a replacement order, but after one day and over a thousand comments, no one knows whether the cheeky squirrel got away with a second helping.
Although most squirrels don’t hibernate, they do stay cozy in their burrows throughout winter, relying on stored food like acorns, nuts, and seeds to survive. Our unconventional cookie thief was likely stocking up for the cold months—but who can blame him for giving cookies a try? Once he tasted the sweetness, there was no going back.
