What was supposed to be a sweet, romantic gesture turned into pure comedy gold after a man tried to “propose” to his girlfriend’s dog — only for the pup to appear to shut him down in the most dramatic way possible.
The now-viral clip, racking up more than 1.8 million views, shows Matt getting down on one knee in front of Rosie, a 5-year-old toy poodle, holding out a tiny plush ring box with a toy diamond inside. It looks like a picture-perfect moment… until Rosie steps forward, stares at the ring — and then starts shaking her head like she’s saying, “absolutely not.”
The timing couldn’t have been better.
Within seconds, the unexpected reaction had everyone cracking up, and the internet quickly crowned Rosie the ultimate proposal critic.

“It genuinely looked like she was saying no,” said Ila Oxman, who shared the hilarious moment online. “We just started laughing immediately.”
According to Oxman, the whole thing was meant to be lighthearted — and very on-brand for Rosie, who is a huge part of their relationship.
Matt wanted to include the pup in the special moment, since she’s basically family. So naturally, he decided Rosie deserved her own “proposal” too.
But here’s the twist — Rosie might love Matt a little too much.
“Ever since we started dating, I’ve kind of become the third wheel,” Oxman admitted. “Rosie is completely obsessed with him.”
And she’s not kidding.
The pampered poodle reportedly waits by the door for Matt to come home, refuses to go to bed without him, and won’t even sit with Oxman on the couch in the meantime. When he finally walks through the door? Total chaos.
“She literally screams when he gets home,” Oxman said.
So when Rosie gave that dramatic head shake mid-“proposal,” viewers couldn’t get enough.
Comments flooded in from amused fans who treated the moment like a real rejection.
“The cutest no ever,” one person wrote.
“Engagement canceled — the dog has spoken,” another joked.
Others couldn’t stop gushing over the couple — and Matt’s effort to include Rosie in such a memorable way.
“This is honestly the sweetest thing,” one user commented. “Matt is a keeper.”
Another added: “She said no unless there are real diamonds involved.”
Oxman said she was stunned by how quickly the video blew up, especially since their account is still new.
“We’ve loved seeing how many people connected with it,” she said. “It’s been so fun watching it take off.”
One thing’s clear — Rosie may not be ready to say yes… but she’s definitely stealing hearts everywhere.
