Labrador Retrievers are known for being natural water dogs, but one hilariously clumsy Lab named Bo may have missed that part of the handbook.
After a four-mile walk with his mom, Hannah, Bo decided it was time to cool off with a swim in a Minnesota lake. It sounded like a perfect idea at first.
Then Bo realized the water was a lot deeper than he expected.
That is when his peaceful swim turned into full-blown comedy.
In the video shared by Hannah, Bo can be seen paddling dramatically in the water while barely seeming to move. His little legs are working overtime, but somehow, the poor pup looks like he is swimming with maximum effort and minimum progress.

Hannah later explained in a follow-up video that it was May in Minnesota, meaning the lake water was still freezing cold. She thinks the shock of going from hot after a long walk to icy cold water may have thrown Bo off completely.
Instead of gliding through the lake like a classic Labrador, Bo turned into a flailing, paddling, deeply confused water dog.
And the audio made the whole thing even funnier.
Hannah’s friend can be heard laughing and narrating Bo’s dramatic lake moment, which only made viewers love the chaotic swim even more.
Hannah’s caption summed it up perfectly: “Today’s episode of dumb and dumber…”
The internet could not get enough.
The video racked up more than 6 million views and nearly 18,000 comments, with people absolutely losing it over Bo’s unusual swimming technique.
One viewer joked, “Good thing he didn’t panic!”
Another commenter asked the question everyone seemed to be thinking: “How is he swimming 100% and 0% at the same time?”
Someone else wrote, “HOW IS HE NOT MOVING?”

Others could not get over the fact that Bo is a Labrador, a breed famous for loving the water.

Thankfully, Bo made it out of the water just fine. In fact, viewers were just as entertained by how proud he looked once he finally got back on land.
Apparently, Bo and his mom were not exactly on speaking terms during the walk home, which somehow made the entire situation even funnier.
Whether he was shocked by the cold water, overwhelmed by the depth, or simply trying out his own very unique swimming method, Bo has officially won over the internet.
