Imagine heading out to the barn expecting a routine morning — and instead stumbling on a once-in-a-lifetime surprise.
That’s exactly what happened at Clover & Bee Farm in Underhill, Vermont, when farmers Anne and Gunner O’Connor went to check on one of their sheep and discovered not two newborn lambs… but six.
The jaw-dropping moment unfolded quickly. According to Anne, their vet had predicted the ewe would deliver twins, so nothing seemed unusual at first. When she arrived, one lamb had already been born and a second was on the way.
But then things took a wild turn.
Lambs three and four arrived back-to-back, leaving Anne stunned but thinking it was finally over. Then, about 10 minutes later, the unimaginable happened — two more lambs were born, bringing the total to six.
“Oh my God, are we going to have another one?” Anne recalled thinking in the moment. “When does this end?”
Sextuplets are incredibly rare, making the surprise even more extraordinary for the small Vermont farm.
Even more amazing? All six lambs are healthy and thriving — and their mom is keeping up like a pro.

Anne says watching them has quickly become the highlight of her day.
“The six of them just frolic all around,” she said. “It’s like therapy sitting out here with them. They’re such wonderful animals.”
As for names, the couple is going with something meaningful. Since the lambs are part Finnsheep, they plan to name them using the Finnish words for one through six — a sweet nod to their heritage.
