Most cats treat bathtubs like enemy territory—but clearly, no one told Kevin.

In a moment that’s equal parts adorable and downright hilarious, a fluffy Maine Coon kitten named Kevin is going viral for his very determined attempt to crash his mom’s bath time. And honestly? He looks pretty proud of himself.

The video, shared by his owner @brianabanana, shows the tiny feline doing everything he can to get closer to his human while she’s in the tub. Instead of running from the water like most cats, Kevin hops right up onto the edge, purring loudly like he’s just accomplished something heroic.

And judging by that rumbling little motor? He’s thrilled.

“He’s obviously a boat meant for the water,” one commenter joked, perfectly capturing the vibe. But while Kevin seemed more than ready to join in, his mom wasn’t exactly eager to share her bath.

Still, that didn’t stop him. No matter how many hints he got, Kevin just wasn’t taking no for an answer.

Viewers, however, weren’t surprised in the slightest.

“He’s a Maine Coon, he’s an orange boy, and you named him Kevin. The signs are all there,” another user wrote, summing up the chaotic energy perfectly.

While the internet loves to say cats hate water, Kevin is proof that some felines are built a little differently.

Maine Coons, for example, actually have features that make them more comfortable around water. Originally bred in cold, snowy climates, they have thick, water-resistant fur and even slightly webbed paws—traits that help them navigate wet environments much better than your average house cat.

That doesn’t mean every Maine Coon is going to dive into a bathtub without hesitation. But Kevin? He’s clearly not your average kitten.

At such a young age, he’s already showing off a mix of curiosity, confidence, and just a little bit of stubbornness. Whether he’ll feel the same way after his first real splash is still up in the air—but for now, he seems more than ready to take the plunge.

And if nothing else, he’s proven one thing: when it comes to kittens, expect the unexpected.
