One patient Golden Retriever puppy is winning hearts online after trying everything he can to convince his orange tabby cat sibling to play with him — while still respecting the cat’s boundaries the entire time.
The adorable interaction, shared on Instagram, shows the energetic puppy bouncing around excitedly as he attempts to start a game with the family’s very unimpressed orange tabby.
But despite the puppy’s endless enthusiasm, the cat clearly isn’t in the mood.
The orange tabby repeatedly swats at the eager pup whenever he gets too close, making it very clear that playtime is not currently on the schedule.
Surprisingly, though, the Golden Retriever handles the rejection like an absolute gentleman.
Instead of charging at the cat or continuing to invade his space, the puppy carefully keeps his distance while still wagging his tail nonstop and trying to encourage his sibling to join the fun.

Viewers online quickly fell in love with how respectful and patient the little dog was during the interaction.
Even after getting smacked several times by the cat’s paws, the puppy never became aggressive or overly pushy.
He simply backed up slightly and kept politely trying to make friends from a safe distance.
According to one popular comment on the video, the puppy’s owners have apparently been teaching him about respecting personal space since the very first day he came home.
That early training seems to be paying off.
