The Watertown Police Department in New York shared the heartwarming update on social media, announcing that three of the rescued pups — Wade, Oni and Roman — have officially found long-term homes with officers from the department.
“Cases like these are never easy, but thanks to the teamwork of our officers, Jefferson County Dog Control, and our community, these puppies were given a second chance,” the department said.
Police did not share details about the neglect investigation, but the department made it clear that protecting the vulnerable does not stop with people.
“Our officers are committed to protecting those who can’t protect themselves, and sometimes that means our four-legged friends too!” WPD said.
The department posted sweet photos of the newly adopted pups posing with their new police officer owners, who were all smiles in uniform. Each puppy could be seen wearing a collar and leash as they began their new chapter far away from whatever hardship they had endured before.
And the good news did not stop there.
Police also shared an update on a fourth rescued puppy named Keira, who was adopted by another loving family. In her photo, Keira appeared happy and settled with her official pet parents, with police saying she was “living her best life with her new family!”

The department thanked Jefferson County Dog Control for helping care for animals in need and working to place them in safe, loving homes.
“Congratulations to our officers on their newest family members!” WPD wrote. “We know Wade, Oni, and Roman have a bright future, and we can’t wait to see them grow!”
The police department said it was thrilled to share a story with “a really happy ending” — and animal lovers online could not get enough.
“Stories like these touch my heart,” one Facebook commenter wrote.
Another added, “This makes my heart deeply happy!!! Thank you, guys, for your amazing work and response; the puppies look SOOO much better.”
After a scary start, Wade, Oni, Roman and Keira now have what every rescue pup dreams of: safety, love and a family to call their own.
