The Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium has a tiny new star, and she is already trying to sound like the queen of the jungle.

Earlier this year, on Easter Sunday, the zoo welcomed a healthy female African lion cub to first-time parents Scarlett and Hondo. Since then, the 2-month-old cub has been spending most of her time behind the scenes with her mom in the zoo’s maternity habitat, where she is growing, exploring and slowly learning what it means to be a lion.

But every so often, she gets a loud reminder from Dad.

When Hondo lets out one of his mighty roars, it can be heard from miles away. This time, his little cub apparently decided she wanted to join in.

The result was not exactly terrifying — but it was absolutely adorable.

In a sweet clip shared by the Pittsburgh Zoo, the tiny cub appears to give roaring her best shot. Instead of a thunderous lion call, however, she lets out the tiniest squeaks as she tries to imitate her father.

She may not have mastered her roar yet, but she definitely gets points for effort.

The zoo joked that the little lion queen is already the “main event,” but there is still one big thing missing: a name.

Zoo officials are now asking the public to help name the cub. For a $5 donation, guests can submit their suggestions through the zoo’s website. Keepers will then review the names and choose the top pick.

For now, the baby lion is still nameless — but she has already roared her way into plenty of hearts.
