Most dogs lose their minds with joy when their favorite person comes home from a trip. But one Golden Retriever named Kevin had a very different reaction.
Kevin was not ready to forgive and forget.
In a hilarious TikTok shared on his account, @kevin_the_golden, the stubborn pup made it crystal clear that his mom had some serious making up to do after leaving him behind while she went on vacation.
The video shows Kevin sitting backward in the back seat of a car, refusing to look at his mom while she tries to win him over.
“Hi Kev,” she says sweetly.
Kevin barely reacts. He turns his head just enough to let her know he heard her, but not enough to actually give her the satisfaction of a real greeting.
His mom keeps trying, but Kevin is committed to the bit. Then she pulls out what should have been the ultimate peace offering: a treat.
Most dogs would immediately cave. Kevin does not even flinch.
That is when his mom realizes this grudge may take some time.
“We’ll talk later,” she says, before adding a singsongy “love you.”
Kevin still refuses to budge.

Viewers could not get enough of the dramatic Golden Retriever and his impressive dedication to the silent treatment.
“The fact that you said treat and he didn’t budge — oh boy,” one person joked.
Another viewer pointed out that Kevin was not the one in trouble.
“Ooooo, someone is in the doghouse, and it’s not Kev,” the commenter wrote.
Others agreed that Kevin’s mom may have a long road ahead.
“Damn. He’s real mad. You might need to sleep on the couch for a few nights,” one person joked.

Kevin may be sweet, fluffy and adorable, but he clearly has standards. And after vacation? Mom was going to have to earn her way back into his good graces.
