Every dog parent knows their pup can have a little attitude, but Penelope the Basset Hound appears to have turned backtalk into an art form.
The hilarious hound has gone viral before for her dramatic personality, but her latest clip has people laughing all over again. Penelope loves to argue, and judging by this video, she has absolutely no problem making her feelings known.
In the clip, Penelope is lying outside while “talking” to her parents in full Basset Hound fashion. It is not exactly clear what she is upset about, but that does not seem to matter. Penelope has thoughts, and everyone nearby is apparently going to hear them.
“Strong opinions, zero life experience. Penelope is finding her voice,” the caption joked.
And based on the video, she has definitely found it.

Viewers immediately fell in love with the opinionated pup and her dramatic little outburst. Other Basset Hound owners also understood the struggle.
“I just called them random outbursts. That’s what I have to deal with,” commenter @markfarris8fiish wrote.
Another viewer, @biegelow, sided with Penelope, writing, “She’s got a point.”
Penelope’s mom quickly pushed back on that defense.
“She’s got nothing to complain about here,” she replied.
That may be true, but Penelope seems committed to her case anyway. Whether she is protesting the weather, the yard, the lack of snacks or simply the unfairness of being told anything at all, this sassy Basset Hound is clearly not afraid to speak her mind.
For a dog with “zero life experience,” Penelope sure has a lot to say.
