Every kitten rescue has its own special story, but one tiny tortoiseshell kitten seemed to know immediately that she had finally found the person meant to save her.
The animal rescuer behind @misfits.and.me was walking her dogs on July 30 when she heard a kitten crying nearby.
The frightened tortie was not comfortable around the dogs, so the rescuer returned alone to see whether she could help.
The moment the woman came back, the kitten’s attitude changed completely.
Instead of running away, the tiny cat approached her with surprising trust, as though she already understood that help had finally arrived.
The rescue could not have gone more smoothly. The kitten appeared desperate for food and safety, but she also seemed instantly drawn to the woman who had come back for her.
It was less like a rescue and more like the two had chosen each other on the spot.
“You can tell she used to have a home,” one viewer commented. “She was so trusting and ready to come to you.”

It is unclear how the kitten ended up alone, but her comfort around people suggested she may have belonged to someone before finding herself stranded.
Fortunately, that part of her story is now behind her.
The kitten was taken to safety and given food, but what happened next made the rescue even more heartwarming.
Although she was clearly starving and eager to eat, the tortie repeatedly paused between bites to look up at her rescuer and show affection.
The sweet gesture made it appear as though she was stopping to thank the woman who had saved her.
Now safe with a family ready to love and protect her, the tiny kitten seems to know that she has finally found her forever home.
