Every rescue dog has a story, but Minky the Miniature Dachshund’s journey is one her new family will never forget.
The tiny dog was found earlier this month trapped inside a mink trap deep in the woods, frightened and seemingly all alone.
Her rescuer, Cat, says she believes Minky may have been abandoned because of her unusual jaw, though no one knows for sure how the little dog ended up there.
What is known is that Minky was lucky someone heard her.
Cat said she heard the frightened Dachshund barking from inside the trap and went to investigate.
When she found Minky, the little dog looked terrified.
She was small, scared and in desperate need of help.
But once Minky was freed, cleaned up and given a warm bath, her personality quickly began to shine through.
The frightened little dog started to relax as she received the attention and affection she had been missing.
It did not take long for Cat and Minky to form a bond.
Minky was eventually brought home, where she now has a safe place to sleep and a family ready to spoil her.

The rescue has touched viewers online, many of whom were heartbroken by the thought that someone may have left the little dog alone in the woods.
“Disgraceful,” one viewer commented. “It breaks my heart that someone has left her! At least she’ll have a great home now!”
Minky’s full past may never be known.
But after being discovered in a trap in the middle of the woods, her future looks very different.
The little Dachshund who once barked for help is now safe, loved and finally home.
