A playful Golden Retriever puppy has found the perfect partner for her backyard adventures — the family’s black cat.
Jinx, an adorable Golden Retriever pup, was caught on camera desperately trying to convince the cat to play with her outside. Before long, the unlikely pair turned the garden into their own personal playground.
In the Instagram clip, Jinx races around the yard while the black cat watches closely, clearly intrigued by the energetic puppy.
The two quickly launch into what looks like an intense game of hide-and-seek and tag.
Jinx ducks behind a large rock, while the cat climbs on top and waits for the perfect moment to pounce. Every time the puppy races past, the cat swats and jumps toward her.
That only seems to excite Jinx even more.
The Golden Retriever eventually breaks into full zoomie mode, sprinting around the yard and repeatedly getting just close enough to tempt the cat into chasing her.

Viewers immediately fell in love with the pair.
“Well, they are gonna be best friends! That black cat will definitely tag along for walks,” one person wrote.
Another joked, “Who doesn’t love a good game of peek-a-boo tag?”
One viewer pointed out that Jinx seemed to know exactly what she was doing, writing that the puppy had figured out how to trigger the cat’s natural instinct to stalk and pounce.
Another summed up the game from Jinx’s point of view: “Dogs rule, cats drool! Can’t catch me!”
Despite the classic rivalry between cats and dogs, Jinx appears to have found herself a willing playmate.
And judging by how enthusiastically the black cat joins the chase, this backyard game probably won’t be their last.
