Two very brave dogs in British Columbia gave their family quite the scare after a black bear wandered onto their property — and the fearless pair wasted no time showing the unexpected visitor who was in charge.
Home security footage shared by ABC News shows Chunk and Koda outside when the bear suddenly appears nearby.
Instead of running back toward the house, the dogs immediately spring into action.
The pair charge toward the bear, barking furiously as they chase it across the property. Within seconds, the much larger animal decides it has had enough and retreats back toward the surrounding wilderness.
Thankfully, both dogs walked away unharmed.
The dramatic clip quickly spread online, with viewers praising Chunk and Koda for their courage and joking that the family clearly has a very dedicated four-legged security team.

As impressive as the moment looks, wildlife encounters like this can be extremely dangerous.
Black bears are common across parts of Canada and the northern United States, and they sometimes wander into residential areas while searching for food. Although black bears will often avoid confrontation, they are still powerful wild animals that can react defensively if they feel threatened or trapped.
Wildlife officials generally recommend keeping dogs leashed in areas where bears are common and bringing pets inside if a bear is spotted nearby. Dogs can sometimes provoke bears by chasing or barking at them, potentially putting both the pet and the owner at risk.
That makes Chunk and Koda’s successful bear-chasing mission something pet owners definitely should not encourage their own dogs to recreate.
Still, it is hard not to admire their confidence.
The two dogs seemed completely determined to protect their yard and each other, despite facing an animal several times their size.
Whether it was loyalty, instinct or simply a serious case of “not in my backyard,” Chunk and Koda certainly made their feelings clear.
And judging by how quickly that bear disappeared, the message was received.
For now, the fearless pair can enjoy their viral fame — and their family can be thankful that their unexpected wildlife encounter ended with everyone safely walking away.
