Bringing a new puppy home can be a big adjustment for an older dog, but one Golden Retriever appears to have taken his new role as big brother very seriously.
When a family introduced their senior Golden Retriever, Odie, to a tiny Shih-Tzu puppy named Mr. Business, they weren’t quite sure how the meeting would go.
As it turns out, the little pup didn’t need much time to win him over.
Their dog mom shared a heartwarming video showing how the unlikely pair’s relationship began, starting with Odie cautiously investigating the puppy’s carrier.
Mr. Business immediately made his presence known by bouncing against the side of the carrier, briefly startling the much larger Golden Retriever.
Odie jumped back, but he didn’t go far.
From there, the video follows the pair as their bond begins to grow.
Mr. Business appears to have no shortage of puppy energy, happily pestering his much bigger brother whenever he gets the chance. Odie, meanwhile, handles the tiny troublemaker with remarkable patience.
Even when the puppy seems determined to test his limits, the gentle Golden continues hanging around nearby.

That sweet dynamic quickly won over viewers.
The video has attracted nearly 100,000 views, with dog lovers praising Odie for being such a patient older brother.
“Love that he’s completely annoyed but won’t leave,” one viewer joked.
Another called Odie the “perfect big sibling,” while someone else summed up the adorable friendship simply by saying it was “about as cute as it gets.”
Golden Retrievers are well known for their friendly and affectionate personalities, while Shih-Tzus often pack plenty of confidence into their tiny frames.
Mr. Business certainly seems to fit that description.
Despite their huge size difference, the two dogs already appear to have figured out their roles. Mr. Business brings the chaos, while Odie provides the patience.
And judging by how closely the Golden sticks to his pint-sized brother, this looks like the beginning of one very sweet friendship.
