Sometimes the best pets seem to find their people when they least expect it.
That’s exactly what happened to one man who walked out of the gym and discovered a tiny black kitten hiding underneath a car in the parking lot.
The little kitten was all alone, vulnerable, and far too small to be wandering around such a busy area.
Instead of walking away, Jay stopped to help.
With a little patience and a gentle approach, he managed to earn the kitten’s trust and bring him to safety.
It didn’t take long for the tiny rescue to completely win him over.
Jay later shared the story online, joking that he had always thought the “cat distribution system” was fake.
Apparently, he changed his mind pretty quickly.
The kitten, now named Oreo, settled into his new life with surprising ease.
For such a little guy, Oreo already seems to have a huge personality.

Viewers immediately fell in love with him, and many joked that Jay had officially become a cat person whether he had planned to or not.
One commenter summed it up perfectly, saying that even if he wasn’t a cat person before, he definitely would be now.
The sweetest part is how quickly Jay seems to have embraced his new role as a cat dad.
He even created a separate social media account for Oreo so fans can keep up with the kitten’s adventures.
Finding a kitten outdoors can be dangerous, especially near cars and parking lots, where they can easily be injured or frightened.
Luckily for Oreo, the right person happened to come along at exactly the right time.
What started as an ordinary trip to the gym ended with a tiny black kitten finding a safe home and a person who already seems completely smitten.
Sometimes the cat really does choose you.
