Golden Retrievers have a special talent for turning almost anything into a toy, but one playful pup may have taken things a little too far after discovering an inflatable air mattress.
In a hilarious TikTok shared by @rusty.and.ollie, an energetic Golden Retriever comes across a large air mattress and apparently decides it’s the greatest thing he’s ever seen.
Unfortunately for the mattress, the curious pup has absolutely no intention of leaving it alone!
As the excited dog plays with his enormous new discovery, the inflatable mattress gradually begins losing air. What started as a perfectly ordinary household item soon becomes a deflating mess, and the Golden seems delighted by the whole experience.

While most people would see a mattress meant for sleeping, this silly pup apparently sees one giant dog toy just waiting to be enjoyed.
The funny moment quickly entertained viewers, especially fellow Golden Retriever owners who know just how mischievous these lovable dogs can be.
“See, some jobs do require a Golden,” one commenter joked, suggesting the pup had discovered a new career in mattress deflation.
Another viewer revealed that the video had even caught the attention of their own furry companion.
“Not my Golden watching and doing a head tilt,” they wrote.
Someone else admitted their dog would have handled the situation a little differently, commenting, “My dog would bite it.”
Golden Retrievers are known for their playful personalities and natural curiosity, so it’s hardly surprising that a giant, squishy mattress would catch this pup’s attention. Its unusual texture and movement probably make it even more interesting than an ordinary dog bed.
Of course, inflatable furniture isn’t exactly designed for roughhousing with dogs. Sharp claws and curious teeth can easily puncture the material, making supervision important when pets investigate something new.
But this Golden Retriever certainly seems pleased with his unexpected discovery.
And while his owners might not be thrilled about having to reinflate their mattress, at least their four-legged troublemaker has provided everyone with a good laugh.
After all, why settle for a regular squeaky toy when there’s an entire air mattress to play with?
