Most little kids have a favorite stuffed animal they can’t fall asleep without. But one adorable 3-year-old has something even better — a real-life teddy bear with four paws and a wagging tail!
Frankie and his Golden Retriever, Beau, have been best friends since the little boy was born. And judging by their sweet bedtime routine, these two simply can’t imagine life without each other.
In a heartwarming video shared by their mom, Erica Derise, Frankie is getting ready for bed when she asks him which stuffed animal he’d like to sleep with.
But Frankie doesn’t need to think about his answer.
He wants Beau!
Instead of reaching for a plush toy, the little boy sweetly calls for his furry best friend to come climb into bed with him.
And Beau, being the devoted big brother he is, is more than happy to join him.
The moment is adorable enough on its own, but Mom reveals that their nighttime routine gets even sweeter after the camera stops recording.

“He stays up for a good 10 minutes just talking to him about his day, too,” Erica shared.
How precious is that?
Apparently, Beau isn’t just Frankie’s favorite bedtime companion. He’s also his personal therapist, secret keeper and the world’s fluffiest listener!
The family’s bond goes back even further than Frankie’s birth. Erica and her husband, Frank, welcomed Beau into their lives first, and the Golden Retriever even played a part in choosing his future little brother’s name.
Now 5 years old, Beau has spent nearly his entire life watching Frankie grow up, and the two have become inseparable.
Golden Retrievers are known for their affectionate personalities and love of family, and Beau certainly seems to have embraced his role as big brother.
Of course, young children and dogs should always have adult supervision, especially during bedtime routines, so everyone stays comfortable and safe.
Still, there’s something especially heartwarming about a little boy who has plenty of stuffed animals to choose from but only wants his best friend.
Frankie might eventually outgrow his favorite toys, but something tells us he’ll never outgrow his love for Beau.
And Beau? He’s probably just happy to have someone who appreciates his excellent cuddling skills and is willing to tell him bedtime stories every night!
