Some friendships are simply meant to be, and one adorable tuxedo cat named Bernard seems to have found his soulmate in the tiniest orange kitten. The moment they met, he apparently decided she was his baby, and nothing was going to change his mind!
Bernard lives with a foster mom who regularly welcomes rescued cats and kittens into her home. He’s used to having new furry faces around and has become something of an unofficial welcoming committee. But when a little orange kitten named Olivia arrived, something was different.
It was love at first sight!
From their very first day together, Bernard seemed determined to look after his new little sister. Whether they’re cuddling, playing, or simply enjoying each other’s company, the two have developed a bond that’s almost too precious for words.
And the sweetest part? Bernard isn’t just being a friendly big brother. He seems to have taken on the role of Olivia’s personal protector, making sure his tiny companion always has someone by her side.

Naturally, viewers couldn’t handle the cuteness.
“I’m going to throw up this is so sweet,” one person joked, perfectly capturing the overwhelming emotions of watching their adorable friendship unfold.
But there’s another special detail about Bernard that makes his story even more heartwarming. The handsome tuxedo cat is actually a tripod, meaning he’s missing one of his legs!
You’d hardly notice, though, thanks to his fluffy coat and the way he confidently gets around. Bernard clearly hasn’t let having three legs stop him from enjoying life or showering his new kitten friend with affection.
While foster kittens often form special relationships with the resident pets in their temporary homes, Bernard and Olivia’s connection seems particularly sweet. Their friendship is a lovely reminder that animals can develop remarkable bonds, sometimes with the most unexpected companions.
As for Bernard, he might have started out as the family’s official kitten greeter, but Olivia appears to have earned herself a permanent place in his heart.
And honestly, is there anything cuter than a three-legged tuxedo cat deciding that a tiny orange kitten is now his responsibility? We don’t think so!
