Most dogs can’t wait to see their favorite human at the end of a long day, but one stubborn Golden Retriever has a very different idea. As far as he’s concerned, daycare is home, and his mom is just the lady who keeps interrupting his fun!
Meet Jax, an adorable Golden Retriever who has apparently decided that leaving daycare is simply not an option. His mom, Meg, knows the daily pickup routine all too well, but that doesn’t make his hilarious protests any less embarrassing.
In a video shared on October 20, Meg attempts to convince her furry troublemaker that it’s time to head home. Unfortunately for her, Jax has absolutely no intention of cooperating.
Instead of happily jumping into the car, the determined pup plants himself on the lawn and refuses to budge. His innocent expression makes the entire situation even funnier, especially as his increasingly frustrated mom tries to persuade him to leave.
And the best part? According to Meg, this isn’t some unusual act of rebellion. Jax apparently puts on this ridiculous performance every single day!

Naturally, viewers couldn’t get enough of the Golden Retriever’s dramatic refusal to end his daycare adventures.
“He thinks he lives there and you’re just some lady that abducts him at night,” one commenter joked, perfectly capturing Jax’s apparent confusion about why his wonderful day keeps getting interrupted.
Another viewer pointed out the bright side of his stubbornness, writing, “At least you know they’re not abusing him at daycare.”
While Jax’s enthusiasm doesn’t tell us everything about his daycare experience, it’s certainly encouraging to see a pup who seems so excited to spend time there.
Golden Retrievers are famous for their friendly personalities, playful energy, and love of socializing, so perhaps it shouldn’t be surprising that Jax considers daycare his personal paradise.
Unfortunately for Meg, her adorable boy has also discovered that a little stubbornness can turn a simple car ride into a full-blown negotiation.
Something tells us Jax will be back on that lawn tomorrow, pulling the exact same stunt. After all, why go home when you’re having the time of your life?
