Golden Retrievers have never been particularly good at respecting personal space, especially when there’s a chance to make new friends. But one adorable pup named Joey has taken his social skills to a whole new level, hilariously inviting himself to a couple’s romantic picnic.
In a heartwarming TikTok shared by @joey_how_u_doinn, the friendly Golden spots two strangers enjoying a peaceful afternoon together and decides they’re missing one very important thing: him.
Without hesitation, Joey strolls right up to the couple, plops himself down beside them, and settles in like he’s been invited all along. He even turns around to glance at his mom, seemingly checking whether she’s noticed his latest friendship adventure.
The best part? The couple doesn’t seem to mind their unexpected third wheel one bit. Instead, they burst into laughter and happily shower Joey with affection while his mom watches the hilarious scene unfold.
“Hi friends, I’ll join you, do you mind?” the video’s caption reads.
And judging by Joey’s complete refusal to budge when his mom calls him, he’s apparently decided that the picnic is now a party of three.

Naturally, viewers couldn’t stop laughing at the lovable intruder, especially his confidence in crashing someone else’s date.
“He really said, ‘I can take your girl if I want to,'” one person joked.
Another imagined Joey giving his mom a little attitude, writing, “Looking at you like ‘I got options…..!'”
But plenty of viewers thought the couple had just received the best possible surprise.

Of course, anyone who’s spent time around a Golden knows that these affectionate dogs often treat complete strangers like long-lost best friends. And Joey clearly sees no reason why a romantic picnic should stand in the way of making new connections.
As for the couple, they may have planned a quiet afternoon for two, but they ended up with a fluffy guest who practically stole the entire date.
