One mischievous orange cat is getting into the Christmas spirit a little earlier than expected, and his family may already be regretting putting up their holiday decorations.
Meet Mango, an adorable orange kitty who took one look at his family’s sparkling Christmas tree and decided it was the greatest gift he’d ever received. Never mind the ornaments, twinkling lights or carefully arranged branches. As far as Mango is concerned, his humans just bought him the world’s fanciest cat tree.
His family shared the hilarious holiday takeover on Instagram through @mango.orangekitty, and it’s clear this festive feline has absolutely no intention of keeping his paws off the decorations.
“I have a new treehouse!” the video’s caption announces.

The on-screen text offers an even funnier explanation of Mango’s thinking: “My hoomans bought me a new climbing tree with a million sparkling lights. They keep saying ‘Christmas Tree.’ I keep saying ‘MEOW property.'”
And Mango certainly acts like he owns the place!
Set to cheerful Christmas music, the video shows the curious kitty happily climbing through the branches, investigating the glittering ornaments and making himself right at home among the holiday decorations. Every branch seems to offer another exciting adventure, and Mango couldn’t look more pleased with his new discovery.
Viewers were immediately charmed by his Christmas antics.
“Home Depot had no idea they were selling luxury cat trees,” one person joked.
Another cat owner recognized the familiar orange-cat chaos, writing, “He’s just doing what orange kitties do. That’s why I haven’t put up a Christmas tree in 20 yrs.”
But plenty of viewers thought Mango made the tree even more beautiful.

Of course, climbing Christmas trees can be risky for curious cats, especially around electrical cords, fragile ornaments and unstable branches. Securing the tree and keeping dangerous decorations out of reach can help prevent holiday mishaps.
As for Mango, he appears to have already made his Christmas wish come true. Who needs presents under the tree when you can be the cutest little ornament sitting right inside it?
