Nothing is probably more heartbreaking than seeing the sad look on the faces of shelter pets, especially when going to get pet supplies at your local Petsmart or Petco.

This dog and cat rescue in Houston, Texas (click hyperlink) knows how heartfelt it can be when they see certain pets not getting adopted because of their age, whether it’s a dog or a cat, as they share in their video posted on August 23.

Meet Theodore, who was previously discarded like garbage in a trashcan in Southwest Houston, and once found, he has been up for adoption at Petsmart without much luck.

That’s why he’s sad and cries at everyone who passes by, as he hasn’t had much interaction with humans since being up for adoption.

This is so heartbreaking…

It’s not uncommon for shelter animals, including cats, to display behaviors that might seem sad or concerning to us. Cats, like other animals, can experience stress, anxiety, and uncertainty when they’re in a shelter environment.

Given his difficult past, it’s no wonder that Theodore might be exhibiting behaviors like “crying” or meowing at people passing by, which could be an expression of his desire for attention, companionship, or a way to communicate his emotions.

Cats, just like people, can be deeply affected by traumatic experiences. His behavior might be his way of seeking comfort, security, and love after going through such a traumatic event.

Adopting a cat like Theodore not only provides him with a second chance at a better life but also shows the power of compassion and resilience. It’s important to approach him with patience, understanding, and a commitment to creating a safe and loving environment.

Sadly, stories like his highlight the importance of responsible pet ownership and the need to treat animals with care and compassion.

Let’s hope sharing this video will help that Theodore will find his forever home soon.
