When you’re a spoiled family pet, it means helping with chores and sometimes ‘rescuing’ your beloved Teddy from the washing machine after his ‘bath’. Commence Operation ‘Golden Retriever Rescue Teddy Bear’. All systems checked. Go. Communications check. Go. Stealth mode activated. Go.
The scene opens with an empty laundry room. It isn’t long before we see our curious pup secret agent peeking into the room. She is in search of something, stealthily scanning the room. Can you hear the Pink Panther theme song running through your head? Da-dum… da-dum… da-dum-da-dum-da-dum-da-dum-da-dummmmm… da-da-da-dummmmm!
It doesn’t take her long to spot her objective. She slowly approaches the machine, gently poking her head in to verify the contents. The music builds in a rising crescendo.
Our little secret agent didn’t realize Mom and Dad were wise to her antics. Being familiar with her love for the treasured teddy bear and her impatience for its return on “bath” day. They set up their pup for a close-up cameo appearance on “Washer Cam.”
After carefully assessing the situation, our golden retriever rescue unit went into full mission mode. She extended her head into the machine to the back of the drum. Gingerly, she took the little Teddy by the toes.
Despite our urge to sing nursery rhymes (grab a teddy by the toes…), the extraction process was a success.
After a slight pause to get a better grip, our hero strolled off with her prize.
