A sweet seaside surprise has gone viral after beachgoers stumbled upon a dog celebrating its tenth birthday with a full-blown sunset photoshoot — complete with balloons, a professional photographer, and ocean views.
April Gosse of Clarkston, Washington, was visiting Cannon Beach when she noticed something unusual on the sand: a large red, white, and yellow balloon arch. Beneath it sat oversized number balloons marking a 10th birthday. At first, she was puzzled — until she realized the entire setup was for a dog.
Once it clicked, Gosse explained the moment instantly made her smile.
“At first, I was confused,” she said. “The arch caught my eye, but you don’t expect to see a full balloon arch set up on the beach. Then once we noticed the dog bone balloons and realized it was for a dog’s birthday, it just felt really joyful and cute.”
The celebration featured a calm, well-loved pup posing patiently as a professional photographer captured the milestone moment against the stunning Oregon coastline. Gosse said the photoshoot lasted between 30 minutes and an hour, with the photographer snapping birthday portraits before wandering off to capture sunset shots and views of Haystack Rock.

Throughout it all, the birthday dog seemed relaxed — though Gosse joked the pup looked a little tired after so much “supermodel posing.”
“It was one of those moments that made my husband and I laugh and smile,” she said. “Just such a wholesome thing to witness.”
Unable to resist, Gosse filmed the scene and shared it on TikTok under the handle @travelingape, calling it the “cutest thing” she had ever seen. The video quickly took off, racking up tens of thousands of views and likes, along with an outpouring of affectionate comments.
