Sometimes, the real heroes have four legs, floppy ears, and noses that never quit.
That was exactly the case in San Bernardino County, California, where two incredible bloodhounds stepped in after a missing woman couldn’t be found for hours. The 49-year-old had gone out for a walk in Running Springs on April 18 — but when she didn’t return home, her family knew something was wrong.
Search crews rushed out and spent hours combing the area… but they kept coming up empty.
Enter Keva and Naji — two determined K9s with a mission.
Handlers gave the pups a scent from the woman’s pillow, and just like that, their noses took over. With Keva leading the way on a long leash, she suddenly started pulling her handler down a steep mountainside, completely locked in on the trail.
It didn’t take long before the breakthrough moment.
As deputies looked down into a deep ravine, they heard something incredible — the woman calling out for help.
She had fallen nearly 200 feet down a rugged, brush-covered slope after suffering a medical emergency, landing in a spot so dense that rescuers couldn’t see her from above. Without the dogs, she may have remained hidden.
But Keva and Naji didn’t miss a thing.
The heroic duo tracked her scent for about half a mile, leading rescuers straight to her location. From there, first responders were able to airlift her to safety — a rescue that deputies say may not have been possible without the dogs.
And if you’re wondering what motivates these lifesaving pups… it’s actually pretty adorable.
“They don’t want to hurt anyone,” one handler explained. “They just want to find the person — and get their treat at the end of the trail.”
Between them, Keva and Naji have already racked up around 60 successful searches. Their handlers even joke they’re basically “hide-and-seek champions.”
Honestly, we believe it.
Because thanks to their unstoppable noses (and big hearts), this story got the happy ending everyone was hoping for.
