A brave German Shepherd named Moses is being called a hero after reportedly saving his owner from a violent bobcat attack in Arizona that could have turned deadly.
The terrifying incident happened Monday morning in a neighborhood in Arizona, where the woman was out walking Moses when a bobcat suddenly charged at them.
According to the owner, the wild animal came out of nowhere and aggressively attacked.
“This cat came at me and jumped me,” the woman told local station 12 News. “I thought it was a coyote because we don’t have bobcats around here. So, I pushed it away and it came right back.”
The woman, who asked not to be identified, said the situation quickly spiraled into chaos as the bobcat continued attacking.
As she tried to escape with Moses, the animal scratched her and knocked her to the ground in her own driveway.
That’s when Moses stepped in.
The loyal German Shepherd fought off the bobcat and ultimately broke the animal’s neck while protecting his owner.
“I was afraid. I kept saying, ‘Go, go, go’ to Moses,” she recalled. “I wanted him to get away, but when I got back he had killed the bobcat.”
Despite the terrifying ordeal, the woman described Moses as both courageous and incredibly gentle.
“He’s an amazing dog and he’s also very sweet,” she said.

After the attack, the bobcat was taken to the Arizona Game and Fish Department, where officials confirmed the animal tested positive for rabies.
Although Moses had already been vaccinated against rabies, he will now have to remain quarantined at home for six weeks as a precaution.
His owner is also receiving medical treatment following the attack and described the experience as painful.
“It could be so much worse,” she said.
Authorities later revealed the frightening attack may have been connected to several other violent bobcat encounters reported in the area within just hours.
According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, the first incident happened Sunday evening when a man suffered significant injuries during a bobcat attack and had to be hospitalized.
Then, early Monday morning, another woman was attacked about 7.5 miles away from that scene. Officials also received reports involving a neighbor’s dog being attacked.
Investigators have not officially confirmed whether the same rabid bobcat was responsible for all four incidents, but authorities said the bizarre aggressive behavior strongly suggests it may have been the same animal.
Officials are now warning residents to stay alert around wildlife and avoid feeding wild animals under any circumstances.
Anyone bitten or attacked by a wild animal is being urged to seek immediate medical attention because rabies can be deadly if left untreated.
