One dog mom thought her pups were spending long days home alone while she was at work — until her Ring camera exposed the sweetest secret ever.

Katie McKinney recently checked her home security footage and realized her dad had been quietly stopping by her house every single day to pick up her dogs while she was gone.

And somehow, he never even mentioned it.

The adorable discovery quickly melted hearts online after Katie shared the video showing her dad arriving like clockwork to chauffeur the pups away for surprise doggy daycare.

But the reason behind it is what really got people emotional.

Apparently, Katie’s dad simply didn’t like the idea of the dogs sitting home alone all day, so he decided to start bringing them over to his own house for daily playdates with his dogs instead.

Honestly, it might be the most wholesome thing on the internet this week.

Katie joked in the caption, “At this point I just share custody… I don’t make the rules!”

Commenters immediately fell in love with the secretly devoted “dog grandpa,” with one person writing, “Now that’s a good PawPaw right there!”

And honestly, they’re not wrong.

The story also sparked a bigger conversation among dog owners about whether dogs get lonely when left home alone for long periods of time.

Experts say some dogs absolutely do struggle with isolation, especially highly social breeds that thrive on constant companionship and interaction with their humans.

Veterinarian Kathryn Dench explained that loneliness in dogs can show up in several different ways. Some pups become extra vocal by barking, whining, or howling, while others act out by chewing furniture, digging through trash, or getting into general mischief.

In some cases, lonely dogs can even appear depressed or withdrawn, losing interest in toys, walks, or activities they normally love.

Another major sign? Velcro dog behavior.

If your pup suddenly refuses to leave your side the second you walk through the door, experts say that may be their way of trying to make up for missed companionship during the day.

To help with separation anxiety or loneliness, experts often recommend things like dog sitters, doggy daycare, puzzle toys, or rotating special activities to keep dogs mentally stimulated while owners are away.

But in Katie’s case, it seems her dad already found the perfect solution.

Honestly, most dog owners would probably love having a free family doggy daycare service — especially one this cute.
