Dojo the Golden Retriever just got promoted to big brother, and judging by his reaction, he could not be happier.

The sweet pup recently met the newest additions to his family: a tiny flock of baby chicks. And from the second he realized there were new “babies” in the house, Dojo was completely obsessed.

His mom caught the adorable moment on video, and it is the kind of wholesome clip that makes animal lovers hit replay immediately. Bringing new pets into a home can be unpredictable, especially when one of the residents is an excited Golden Retriever. But Dojo handled the big introduction like the gentle gentleman he clearly is.

“Do you have new babies?” his mom asked in the clip.

Dojo barked back like he had very important big-brother duties to announce, then trotted over to the chicks’ enclosure to check on his new little crew.

The baby chicks were still tiny and safely tucked away, but Dojo seemed determined to stay close and protect them. He hovered near their enclosure with the sweetest energy, looking proud, curious and totally smitten all at once.

“Meeting new friends,” the text over the video read.

For Dojo’s mom, it was the kind of moment every pet parent dreams of. All of her “kids” were getting along, and her Golden was embracing the new arrivals without a hint of jealousy.

Commenters could not get enough of the precious scene.

“Containing his excitement with the stuffy! I can’t,” one person wrote.

“He said ‘I’m their new mommy!!!’” another joked.

“Such a precious gentleman… pupper is such a good dad to his little peepers,” another fan added.

Someone else summed it up perfectly: “I don’t know how to describe how much I enjoyed this video.”

Some dogs need time to adjust when new animals come into the house. Dojo, apparently, just needs a quick introduction before he is ready to become the official babysitter.

And honestly, these baby chicks may have just landed the best big brother ever.
