A sweet Bulldog named Wilma is finally getting the love and care she deserves after being dumped outside and left to struggle with serious medical problems.

Wilma is only 2 years old, but rescuers say she has already been through far too much. According to NAWS, a no-kill humane society near Chicago, the little Bulldog appears to have had multiple litters, meaning much of her puppyhood may have been taken from her.

Now, she is safe.

NAWS rescued Wilma and is caring for her while she recovers enough to eventually find a forever home.

The shelter shared her story in a touching video, showing the gentle pup soaking up attention, enjoying toys, and finally getting the comfort she had been missing.

Despite everything she has endured, Wilma still seems ready to love.

The shelter explained that she currently needs a lot of medical help. Her skin is in terrible condition, she still needs to be spayed, and she will most likely need surgery on her eyes.

“Our little girl Wilma currently needs a lot of medical help,” the caption explained.

Even with those challenges, Wilma’s personality is already shining through. She loves playing with toys, getting scratches, and making up for the happy puppy days she may never have had.

Viewers immediately fell in love with her.

“Sweet beautiful Wilma, you’re safe now!” one person wrote.

Another commenter thanked the rescue for saving her, adding that Bulldogs are some of the sweetest dogs because “all they want is love.”

Others could not get over how happy Wilma looked with her toy.

“Wilma and her toy,” one viewer wrote.

The creator replied, “She loves her toys.”

After such a difficult start, Wilma deserves every toy, every cuddle, and every bit of medical care needed to help her heal.

For now, she is in the right hands. And when she is ready, this little Bulldog will hopefully find a family that gives her the soft, safe life she should have had all along.
