A dog rescuer and shelter volunteer is giving viewers hope after helping several dogs escape a heartbreaking hoarding situation in Texas.

Staci, who shares her rescue work on social media as @stacifosters, has helped dozens, and possibly hundreds, of animals find safe homes over the years. But one recent rescue has people especially emotional.

In early June, Staci discovered a property in Texas where about 20 dogs were living in troubling conditions. Instead of rushing in and risking losing access, she slowly worked to build trust with the property owners.

That patience paid off.

After speaking with the owners, Staci was able to negotiate the release of five dogs: three German Shepherds and two Jack Russell Terriers.

The moment the dogs were finally loaded into her car, viewers felt like they could breathe again. The rescued pups immediately settled down, almost as if they understood they were finally safe.

It was a powerful sight.

For animals who had been living in sparse conditions, the car ride marked the beginning of a whole new life. No more fear. No more hunger. No more wondering when help might come.

Five dogs is already a lot for any rescuer to take on, but Staci’s followers know this rescue is far from over. According to the post, about 20 dogs were living on the property, meaning many more still need help.

Viewers praised Staci for the way she handled the difficult situation.

“Way to build a relationship and trust with the owners so you could free them,” one commenter wrote. “Thank God for your perseverance.”

Later that day, Staci returned to the property to look for two remaining German Shepherds who had been hiding from all the commotion. They were shy, but once found, they seemed just as grateful to be given a chance at safety.

For many viewers, the hardest part is knowing there are still dogs waiting to be rescued.

“I can’t wait for the ones in crates to be rescued,” one person wrote, saying what so many others were thinking.

Thankfully, Staci does not appear to be giving up.

Once these five foster dogs are settled and eventually placed in forever homes, she plans to return to the property and rescue as many more dogs as possible.

For now, the first five are finally on their way to the lives they always deserved. And for everyone watching, there is hope that the rest of the dogs will soon get their chance too.
