Some dogs will do just about anything for a snack, and one berry-loving Bernese Mountain Dog just got caught red-pawed.
Theo, a lovable Bernese Mountain Dog, recently became a big brother to a puppy named Winston. And apparently, watching his little brother get into mischief gave Theo a few ideas of his own.
His mom started to suspect that someone was helping themselves to a bowl of freshly rinsed strawberries sitting on the kitchen counter.
At first, she couldn’t believe Theo would be bold enough to steal them.
So she set up a camera to solve the mystery.
Sure enough, Theo was the culprit.
The footage showed the giant dog casually helping himself to the strawberries the second his mom left the room, chomping away like they were the best treats he had ever tasted.

Theo wasn’t exactly subtle about it, either.
The sound of water sloshing around in the bowl and his enthusiastic chewing made it pretty obvious what he was doing.
Even funnier, Theo eventually looked directly at the camera.
But instead of backing away, he kept eating.
Apparently, he had already decided the strawberries were worth getting caught.
One commenter joked, “Flock cameras blaming another innocent,” as if Theo had been wrongly accused.
Unfortunately for him, the video evidence was pretty convincing.
Still, with a face that adorable, it’s easy to imagine his mom having a hard time staying mad.
Theo may not be the sneakiest dog in the world, but he definitely knows how to turn snack theft into a hilarious moment.
And luckily for him, strawberries are generally safe for dogs to eat.
According to the American Kennel Club, strawberries can be a healthy treat for dogs when given in moderation. They contain vitamins, antioxidants and fiber.
Strawberry allergies and digestive intolerances are considered uncommon in dogs, and even the leaves and stems are not toxic.
That doesn’t mean dogs should eat unlimited amounts, though.
Too many strawberries at once can cause an upset stomach, especially because of their natural sugar and fiber content.
For a big dog like Theo, it would likely take quite a few berries before he overdid it.
Judging by the way he attacked that bowl, though, he may have been willing to try.
