A black cat named Millie did her very best to disappear during a trip to the vet — but there was just one problem with her hiding spot.
In a TikTok video that has been making people laugh online, Millie can be seen pressing herself tightly into the corner of a veterinary exam room, apparently hoping no one will notice her.
Unfortunately for Millie, her jet-black fur was up against a very light-colored wall.
Her owner played along with the failed escape attempt, joking in the video that Millie had done such an impressive job “camouflaging” herself that the veterinarian would never be able to find her.
The caption simply asked, “where’s Millie?”

Viewers immediately joined in on the joke.
“Cats are so funny,” one person wrote, while another joked, “You can’t see me, I can’t see you.”
“Is the cat in the room with us?” another viewer teased.
Other cat owners began sharing their own stories and photos of pets attempting to hide, explore cabinets or squeeze into strange places during veterinary appointments.
Millie’s reaction may be funny, but the instinct behind it is very real.
Veterinary experts say cats can become stressed when they are removed from familiar surroundings and brought into places such as veterinary clinics. Hiding is one of the ways some cats try to cope with an unfamiliar or frightening environment. The Feline Veterinary Medical Association even recommends giving nervous cats appropriate hiding opportunities during veterinary visits when possible.
That means Millie probably wasn’t trying to become an internet comedian.
She was simply looking for the safest spot she could find.
The fact that she chose one of the most obvious hiding places imaginable just made the moment even better.
As one amused viewer put it, cats really do have plenty of personality.
And judging by Millie’s disappearing act, she was completely convinced her plan had worked.
