Some dogs hear the word “vet” and immediately start looking for a place to hide.
Cosmo the Golden Retriever is definitely not one of them.
The lovable pup was out with his owner when he unexpectedly spotted his veterinarian, Dr. Jones, at a brewery — and his reaction made it very clear just how much he adores him.
In the sweet TikTok video shared by @cosmo_andtheoddparents, Cosmo excitedly makes his way over to Dr. Jones before climbing in close for plenty of cuddles and attention.
The reunion looks less like a dog bumping into his veterinarian and more like an old friend showing up at a surprise party.

Viewers loved seeing just how comfortable Cosmo was around the man responsible for his veterinary care.
One commenter joked that Cosmo seemed to be checking with his mom to make sure she also noticed who was there, while another compared the adorable scene to something straight out of a Hallmark movie.
But there is actually a touching reason behind Cosmo’s excitement.
Cosmo’s owner, Hannah Dweikat, told Upworthy that his relationship with Dr. Jones began during a frightening emergency when Cosmo was still a puppy.
Cosmo had eaten a seed from a sago palm growing in the family’s backyard and had to be rushed to an animal hospital, where he remained over the weekend.
Dweikat said Dr. Jones and his staff remained calm and patient with Cosmo during the ordeal, helping turn what could have become a lasting fear of the veterinarian into something much more positive.
Ever since, Cosmo has apparently been thrilled to see his veterinary friends — especially when treats and cuddles are involved.
His family also lives close to the clinic, meaning Cosmo occasionally gets the chance to run into Dr. Jones and other staff members away from the office.
And judging by this reunion, he certainly remembers them.
Cosmo’s puppy emergency also comes with an important reminder for dog owners.
Sago palms are highly toxic to dogs, and the seeds are considered the most dangerous part of the plant. Eating even a small amount can potentially cause vomiting, neurological problems, severe liver damage and other life-threatening complications. The ASPCA advises owners who suspect their pet has eaten part of a sago palm to contact a veterinarian or animal poison-control service immediately.
Fortunately for Cosmo, his scary encounter as a puppy ended with something unexpectedly sweet — a lifelong friendship with the veterinarian who helped care for him.
And now, every chance meeting with Dr. Jones appears to be another reason for one very happy Golden Retriever to celebrate.
