It’s no secret that dogs can be friendly with just about anyone they meet, whether it’s an old friend or a stranger on the street. Cats aren’t as well-known for their social skills, but there are plenty of felines, like Mica the gray cat, who are just as friendly and affectionate as any other pet.

Mica’s gentle soul shines through whether he’s cuddling on the couch or relaxing in the backyard, but it was a May 12 interaction with a curious hummingbird that has his TikTok fans talking. Even though many cats would chase or catch birds, this tranquil kitty would rather make a friend than play a game.

How sweet is this? Mica has no idea that he’s creating the perfect Disney moment in the comfort of his backyard. At first glance, it almost looks like he’s getting ready for a nap in the sun, but a few eagle-eyed viewers caught on to what was actually happening.

A commenter named Shelle noticed “the slow blink. She’s trying to tell the bird she’s not going to hurt it.” Isn’t that adorable?

Although the slow blink theory may be true, others speculated that his relaxed posture was nothing more than a trap. However, not even this cat’s award-winning acting routine can fool her mama. She knows the truth: Mica is just too sleepy!

  1. Our cats are also fascinated by hummers. The way they hover and dart!
I think cats and hummers are curious about each other.

Cats aren’t as well-known for their social skills for good reason. Many have been treated not very well by some people, and become wary of all people. The ones that are friendly are because they trust the people they’re around. People who think that cats re just furry little violent airheads so exactly what THEY expect. It’s called projection.
If you have the mindset to earn a cat’s trust – you have a companion/friend for life ❣
