Most of us grew up believing that cats and birds can’t get along and live together peacefully, but a video shared by Pubity Pets at the beginning of June proves that wrong. It’s actually wild to see!
Before you start to watch this video, let us ease your mind…the bird is alive! The video starts with a cat and her newborn kittens snuggled up together in a basket. They’re all absolutely adorable and look so cozy! But when the shot pans over to mom’s head, there’s an intruder in the basket with the cats: a sleeping bird on his back!

The first time we watched the video, we thought, Oh no, the mom cat had been hunting and caught the family’s pet bird.
We were surprised at the end when they lifted the bird out, but the bird went right back in with the cat and kittens. It’s not something you see every day!
